My daughter reminded me it had been long since I last made this delicious avocado chocolate mousse. So, I dug through my archives, which I have collected since 2017, when I began my quest for good health.
This recipe is one of my favorites due to its simplicity and natural ingredients. It is not only tasty but also beneficial for health, making it a perfect dessert for everyone.
Ingredients
2 ripe avocados
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or other plant-based milk)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
Instructions
Prepare the avocados:
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Place the avocado flesh in a blender or food processor.
Add the other ingredients:
Add the almond milk, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the blender.
Blend:
Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. You may need to stop the blender and scrape down the sides occasionally to ensure everything is well mixed.
Taste and adjust:
Taste the mousse and adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding a bit more maple syrup if necessary.
Refrigerate:
Transfer the mousse to ramekins or serving bowls. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to develop and the mousse to firm up.
Serve:
Serve the avocado chocolate mousse chilled, topped with your favorite toppings like fresh fruit, chopped nuts, or chocolate shavings.
